For our quality resources, we rely on locally produced, premium and fresh ingredients that form the base of Galaxy Hotel’s gastronomy, and it is this quality that shines through the flavours: First and foremost, the legendary Cretan olive oil, is the backbone of our cuisine. Extra virgin and organically produced by us for generations in our own farms in the village of Dafnes, in the hills outside Heraklion, it boasts a refined, full-bodied flavour and has exceptional nutritional value.
Secondly, our wine selections are exemplar of the finest wines found on the island of Crete, including some from small and select local wineries procured for you to indulge in.
Moreover, we select our fresh ingredients on a daily basis, from local producers ensuring guests taste every ingredient in prime condition. Fruits and vegetables as well as fresh greens that take up a large part of the Mediterranean diet, freshly caught fish, and tender meats infused with aromatic herbs that give off the true scent of Crete: rosemary, basil, thyme and oregano.
Finally, local soft drinks, traditional orgeat (almond syrup) as well as wild cherry juice, traditional sweets and local thyme honey all bring some Cretan sweetness to your plate or glass.
